Cygnus Review,   October 2000 :

When we reached the last page of this book we were so sad! We didn't want it to end! We so much enjoyed reading about this 100% loving, wise man, who devoted his whole life to the divine, and was so full of courage and determination to share his light with as many human beings as possible, whatever the obstacles.

Born in Bulgaria in 1900, he had his first spiritual experience at the tender age of six, and by his teens was literally almost consumed by his yearning for the Divine. Then he met the Master Peter Deunov and spent 20 years under his guidance.

In 1937, he moved to France and continued his work there, initially as the representative of Peter Deunov and later as a spiritual Master in his own right. In the course of his 86 years he endured a great many of the trials known to humanity, and reading about how he used them consciously as tools for transformation is truly inspiring.

Pierre Lassalle, in Terra Lucida, 2003, vol 1, no 4 :

This book by Louise-Marie Frenette is consecrated (in the spiritual sense of the word) to Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov (1900-1986), the Bulgarian spiritual Master, disciple of Peter Deunov, who lived a great part of his life in France. A marvelous biography and, at the same time, a spiritual itinerary, it is addressed to all those who are stirred by the lives of great beings. ‘I want to be like the sun.’ Such was Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov’s goal from the time he was very young. At seventeen, he met his Master, Peter Deunov, an initiate charged with preparing Eastern Europe for the coming Age of Aquarius.

For forty years, Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov dedicated himself completely to the service of others. As the author writes: ‘In his desire to help all those he met he was always genuinely interested in them.’ At the age of thirty-seven at the request of Peter Deunov, he took up residence in France where he began to teach. To do this he was obliged to leave everything of his own behind. Speaking of his teaching he said: ‘Do not bother your heads about whether I am an initiate or not; try simply to check the authenticity of what I give you. Before eating, make sure that this ‘food’ is pure, unadulterated, and true.’

This book is the bearer of great hope, and great power. It inspires in readers a desire to surpass themselves and shows them that all is possible. For example, Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov said to a woman one day: ‘You know, the surest way of losing all strength and courage is to consider evil as an enemy. If you see it as a factor that can help you to evolve, you transform it into good. We must not forget that it is our trials that allow us to find unknown resources within ourselves. This is why evil is often a blessing in disguise.’

Embellished with numerous photographs, this book transports its readers and awakens in them the forces of the heart, the soul and the spirit. This exceptional being, full of humour and goodness, would often say: ‘What I tell you is true; I know that the invisible world is listening to me, and I cannot mislead you.’ He gave more than five thousand talks (now translated into some twenty languages) and travelled to many countries in the East and West. He sowed the seeds of a true brotherhood.
